WHAT’S NEW IN WINDOWS 8.1

Windows 8.1 has significantly changed the way Search works. Searching in the Charms bar will allow the user to look for files (local and OneDrive), apps, and settings. The user can also select to narrow the search.

Microsoft has also backed off of the “No Chrome” stance somewhat and also introduced a SearchBox control. If you recall from the Windows 8.0 guidance, all chrome (as in buttons, tabs, etc.) was to be moved into the AppBar.
