Artificial Intelligence

This is a chapter on Artificial Intelligence (AI), which is a field in which machines are able to do many, but not all, of the tasks and functions normally done by the human being. Clearly, computers of various types are a necessary ingredient in this technology. And as computer capabilities have increased, so has the problem-solving strength of AI.
