Groups are often assembled to solve a problem, build a system, share information or reach consensus on a controversial (nontrivial) issue. These groups are often within an enterprise, or from several enterprises. These groups may be within a country, or they may be international.
It takes considerable skill to lead a group, as can be inferred from the above. Yet, many of us are called upon to do so. This short chapter will attempt to help the potential group leader in being effective in this endeavor. We will start out with a quite popular subject, namely, how to do it “wrong”. This short section on doing it incorrectly has the subtitle “GroupThink”.
