Modify Row Headings
There is one limitation
that you need to keep in mind when turning variable and statistic
labels into blank labels to remove excess headings. If you use blank
labels for column headings, PROC TABULATE removes the excess headings
and does not display a blank heading. However, for rows, it’s
a different story.
If you have a statistic
or analysis variable in the row heading and you give it a blank label,
PROC TABULATE will allot space for it anyway. You will end up with
an extra row heading that is completely empty.
