In this chapter, we illustrate a running example from the insurance industry in the business area of managing insurance claims. Managing claims is actually one of the core processes in the insurance business. For this reason, improving the effectiveness of handling claims is a field that provides much potential for innovative approaches. By providing this example business scenario, we aim to show how the patterns in this book support the design and implementation of the business architecture and the technical architecture.
