Bulk Solids Storage
Abstract
Bulk solids are very important in certain sectors. On the “heavy” side, there are raw minerals and solid fuels, and at the very fine end of the spectrum, most active pharmaceutical ingredients and excipients are solids.
This is also very important in waste treatment. As well as the obvious solid waste storage requirement, both gaseous and liquid effluent treatment can produce large volumes of semisolids such as sludges and slurries.
The layout of bulk solids storage depends upon the type of transportation used for delivery to, and removal from, storage area, and the method adopted for store loading and unloading.
