Having discussed the various quality aspects of modeling that are enhanced by the UML, we now discuss the manner in which these qualities, exhibited by the UML-based models, can be verified and validated. Some of this verification and validation deals with the visual aspects of the model, others with the specification, construction, and documentation aspects of the model. Note, though, that the prescriptive aspect of such verification is a part of model quality rather than process quality and, therefore, outside the scope of this work.
