SETTING UP A BASIC .PROCMAILRC FILE
When Procmail runs it will look in various locations for information detailing how to process your email. The most important of these is the .procmailrc
file in your home directory.
If you create an empty .procmailrc
file Procmail will deliver any incoming email to your normal electronic inbox. If you simply want all mail to be delivered to some other mailbox (let's say the file myMail
in your home directory) the following very basic .procmailrc
file will achieve this:
:0 : myMail
These two lines make up a Procmail recipe – indeed, one of the simplest Procmail recipes.
