This chapter introduces you to some necessary guidelines for writing a short film or video script. It does not, however, explore in depth the nuts and bolts of writing technique. We recommend that you consult books written specifically about screenwriting for the short form. You’ll find suggestions in the Bibliography.
The guidelines in this chapter are not absolutes. Violating some of these principles should not keep you from moving ahead if you feel strongly about the idea.
