INSURANCE
Insurance plays an important role in motion picture and video production. Having insurance is as essential as having film stock or the right camera. In the course of normal life, calamities can happen and life goes on. In the course of a production, a car accident, sickness, a robbery, or a fire can bring the production to a screeching halt.
A budget, even with a contingency of 10 percent, is not flexible enough to cover keeping a crew standing for days, even weeks, while the lead actor recovers from an accident.
