The Importance of Tracking

Tracking a project in animation can be a colossal challenge unless it is handled with forethought, diligence and consistency. An animated feature production typically has tens of thousands of complex interdependent elements to track—not only when they are initially created, but also as they undergo multiple iterations. Combining the need to know the location and status of each of these elements while managing a crew of as many as a hundred plus artists and technicians, often in multiple locations, makes the development of a robust, well-organized tracking system imperative.
