First-Party Submissions

The Electronic Software Ratings Board (ESRB) is an independent nonprofit organization that rates the age group, appropriateness, and content of video games, assigning an age certification (a.k.a. rating) and calls out the degree of questionable content. They also work towards educating parents and consumers about knowing what to look for when determining a game’s suitability.

The ESRB was created in response to the outcry from parents to have film-like ratings for video games so that they would have an idea of what is appropriate for the age they are purchasing for.
