Case Study: Staffing For Product Releases
12.1 Introduction
With all the knowledge gained about methods for staffing, the question becomes: How does all this apply in a concrete case study project? John, the product manager at our sample telecommunications company SIP Inc., is working closely with Jane, one of the project managers of the company. Jane’s responsibility is to ensure that the plans created and revised by John are properly scheduled, and that the assignment of developers to perform the individual tasks is feasible and efficient. Staffing for product releases needs to be done almost continuously. Jane has to make weekly staffing decisions related to the following questions:
