Initial Preparation for the Shoot

The majority of the previous chapters in this book are concerned with the preparation for a shoot. The script is the first step in preparing for a feature, the proposal is the first step for a documentary. The processes of breaking down, budgeting and scheduling are all essential steps in the pre-production phase of any film, regardless of size or complexity.
