Configuring highly available OpenStack services
Most OpenStack services are stateless web services that keep persistent data on a SQL database and use a message bus for inner-service communication. We will use Pacemaker and HAProxy to run OpenStack services in an active-active highly available configuration, so traffic for each of the services is load balanced across all controller nodes and cloud can be easily scaled out to more controller nodes if needed. We will configure Pacemaker clusters for each of the services that will run on all controller nodes.
