Hazard 15: Electricity
Michael Samuelson Lighting has been fined £2000 following a large-scale inspection of Pinewood Studios by inspectors from the Health and Safety Executive. At Wycombe and Beaconsfield Magistrates Court the company pleaded guilty to contravening Regulation 4(2) of the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 (EWR) in that an electrical system including a Karcher pressure washer was not maintained so as to prevent danger.

Doug James, a 55 year old cinema projectionist, died in August 1997 when he was electrocuted as he changed a light bulb.
