  • serious injury

  • death

  • insufficient training and equipment

First aid can save lives and prevent minor injuries from becoming major ones. First aid can also save lives by the administration of prompt attention if somebody falls ill or has an accident. Any delay can prove fatal but the provision of rapid first aid from a trained person can save life until a doctor, paramedic or ambulance can give assistance.
