One of the common but unfounded criticisms of Productive Failure is that maybe it is not for everyone. Perhaps Productive Failure is better suited for those with higher abilities, motivation, and resilience. Because those without these attributes may get frustrated and give up, making failure unproductive.

I argue that when we attribute a quality like “motivation” to an individual, such as when we say Julie is motivated but John is not, we are making an error.
