I’m not exactly sure when the word workflow began replacing the word work, but nowadays you hear it all the time. In the same way problematic is now used in place of problem, workflow has tightened its grip on the English lexicon as a semi-legitimate replacement for the simpler word work. But although workflow could be accused of being a two-dollar word when a two-bit word will do, the fact is that the word workflow speaks more to the process of one’s work than the work itself.
