Proper networking skills are essential in order to develop new relationships, create new business opportunities, and not spend the rest of your life sad and alone in the corner all by yourself. And it’s not particularly hard. Show up to networking events early (same goes for internal company meetings), and remember to smile. Not like a psychopathy kind of smile, but more like a “I’m at least moderately happy to be here and be talking with you right now” kind of smile.
