8.4. Create Publishing Pages Based on Page Layouts
Publishing pages in publishing sites are always created based on existing page layouts and reside in the Pages library. Navigate to the Pages library by selecting Site Actions View All Site Content Pages. Only the default.aspx file is there initially, and a column called Page Layout shows that this page is based on the page layout called "Welcome page with Web Part zones." You can also configure this library to show the underlying content type on which this page layout is based. Click on the All Documents view dropdown, and then click on Modify This View. Once the view is displayed, select the checkbox for Content Type in the Columns section. Click OK at the top of the page. The Pages library now shows the Content Type column with the name of the appropriate content type, as shown in Figure 8-28.
