PHIDGETS DEVICES APPLICATION
In addition to supporting the native code environment, the Phidgets driver for the Compact 7 component package includes a library component to support managed code applications and uses a similar namespace structure as the .NET Compact Framework.
This chapter works through different exercises to develop the following:
- Configure a custom OS design to support the Phidgets device, using an eBox-3310A as the target device.
- Generate a SDK from the OS design project to support application development.
- Develop an RFID reader application using the Phidgets RFID reader module in managed code.
- Include the application to the OS design, and compile as part of the OS run-time image, configured to launch the application during startup.
Prerequisites
To develop an OS design for an eBox-3310A configured to support the Phidgets device and develop the RFID application for the exercises in this chapter, you need to have the following components installed in the development station:
- Compact 7 BSP for the eBox-3310A (ICOP_eBox3310A_70A)
- Phidgets driver for Compact 7 (PhidgetFramework_v214_Compact7)
- AutoLaunch component for Compact 7 (AutoLaunch_v200_Compact7)
- CoreCon component for Compact 7 (CoreCon_v200_Compact7)
In addition to the required software, you need the following hardware components:
- An eBox-3310A
- A PhidgetRFID reader
You can find more information about the eBox-3310A and PhidgetRFID reader from the following URLs:
