ACCESSING THE REGISTRY

Windows Embedded Compact does not provide a registry editor that is accessible to the end user. During the development process, you can access the registry on a Compact 7 device as follows:

  • Generate an OS run-time image with KITL enabled and download the image to the target device. From the development station, use the Remote Registry Editor tools to access the registry on the target device.
  • Develop a custom application to programmatically access the Compact 7 device’s registry.

Registry editors from third-party companies can support Windows Embedded Compact.
