Basic principles in generating induced pluripotent stem cells

Abstract:
Induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) technology has potential in cell replacement therapy for patients suffering with Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Type 1 diabetes and other cellular diseases. Somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT) technology laid the foundation for induced pluripotent stem cell technology. So far SCNT remains technically challenging and has low success rate particularly in humans because of ethical constraints.
