With the initial release of Visual Studio .NET and the Microsoft .NET Framework, Windows Forms had a very good data binding story, but it took a little digging to learn it, and except for a wizard and some Properties window techniques, the designer support was weak. But with the release of Visual Studio 2005 and the .NET Framework 2.0, the flexibility, design time support, and ease of learning that Windows Forms data binding provided was simply fantastic.
