Advanced Dimensions and Measures

In the previous chapter, you learned how to use the Cube Wizard to build several dimensions for our Northwind Sales cube. The Cube Wizard offers the convenience of building several dimensions at once, but it does not provide access to all the features you can build into your dimensions.

You also learned in Chapter 15 how to go beyond the Cube Wizard and build your own hierarchy. (We did this by building a Country - State-Province - City - Postal Code hierarchy in the Geography dimension using the dimension designer.) But that was only a start—we could have done a lot more with that dimension and the others. Let’s now refine what we have built.
