15. Using Reports for Tracking and Control
This chapter provides background and real-world examples of reporting capabilities available in Project. This chapter focuses on reporting using standard reports and covers only basic capabilities. It is a good starting point, but most projects need some customization for their specific needs. Customization is not covered in this chapter.
This chapter has two halves: one covering reports and the other covering visual reports. There is a significant amount of overlapping functionality between the two, but don’t let that bother you. Use visual reports when you really want to get your data into Excel or Visio and work with it from there. Otherwise, reports should work well.
