Under what circumstances can a project organization reasonably conclude that a project is a candidate for early termination? Although a variety of factors can influence this decision, Meredith identifies six categories of dynamic project factors and suggests that it is necessary to conduct periodic monitoring of these factors to determine if they have changed significantly.15 In the event that the answer is “yes,” follow-up questions should seek to determine the magnitude of the shift as a basis for considering if the project should be continued or terminated.
