Selecting and Initiating a Project

This chapter begins with the topic of portfolio management. That is, how does an organization decide what work to do and then oversee that work? A second topic in this chapter also pertains to the organizational level. Some companies have a project management office (PMO) that helps set standards and training needs, coordinates portfolio decisions, and performs other various functions to help project managers.
