PROJECTS ARE TEMPORARY ENDEAVORS—thankfully, they don’t last forever. In order for them to reach their closing, however, you’ll need to use creativity, resourcefulness, and logic in determining the project schedule. The project schedule is more than the calendar of when the work should take place; it’s also the coordination of multiple employees; procurement; timing of interactions; swift decisions; and reaction to changes, issues, and events within the work. There’s a science and a sixth sense to scheduling the work to ensure that the tasks are completed in an order that ensures that the project won’t take any longer than necessary to complete.
