Appendix A Research-oriented Academies of the World
Introduction
Academies around the world provide a foundation for international collaboration on intellectual grounds, which facilitates effective multi-disciplinary research management strategies. Although the most-recognized academies are technically oriented (e.g., engineering) the variety and diversity of academies can cover non-technical disciplines. The International Council of Academies of Engineering and Technological Sciences (CAETS) is one global coalition of technical groups dedicated to the advancement of research in various disciplines. As a ready reference, the member academies of CAETS are provided in this Appendix.
