In 2006 I met Carlo Notari, president of the Project Management Institute's (PMI's) Northern Italy Chapter, a generous and passionate Southern Italian. As a typical Northern Italian—efficient, process driven, and anchored to reality—I was new to my position as the chapter's vice president of education and a little unsure of how we two project managers from such diverse backgrounds would work together.
