Clear Communication: The Key to Project Success

Of all the areas of project management, communication is perhaps the one area that most establishes the ability of the people supporting a project to work productively and effectively. Communication is a key issue on every project. You know from your own experience how communication-related problems have set you back. Effective communication requires a proactive effort. Just assuming that the project staff is up-to-date and familiar with the current status of the project doesn’t foster communication. PMs must set a personal example of open and full communication, and put in place a set of mechanisms to promote and encourage proactive communication.
