Regional trade in South Asia: findings from three indices

This chapter discusses the significance of South Asia in world GDP, members’ trade openness and the level of intra-regional trade. The chapter attempts to examine the pattern in these three indices over time, and explores whether they provide significant evidence for promoting trade cooperation within the region.
