Issuance of Certificate of Registration or Notice of Allowance
If no opposition is filed, or once the opposition is resolved, the application enters the next stage of the registration process. If the application was based on actual use of the mark in commerce, the PTO registers the mark and issues a registration certificate about twelve weeks after publication in the OG.
However, if the application was based on the applicant's intent to use the mark in commerce, the PTO issues a Notice of Allowance about twelve weeks after publication of the mark in the OG.
