Public policy as a discipline is fairly young. But its practice is as old as that of civilizations. In recent centuries, as democracies have evolved, Public policy has gained greater prominence. Public policy in the recent past revolved around providing equal opportunities to citizens without discrimination of race, gender, cult, or community. Public policy has significantly helped the nations in their progress towards peace, prosperity, and security.
