Chapter 7. Client-Side Browser Syntax

This chapter contains all the items and elements making up the JavaScript language in browsers. As with the other chapters in this section of the book, each entry includes the version, browser support, syntax, a description, an example, as well as many other details.

Note

As discussed in earlier chapters, there are some differences in support for language elements among browsers. This is predominately seen in Internet Explorer 3.02 and Navigator 2.02 for OS/2, where features are present that are not in other 3.0 and 2.0 versions. In these instances, the displayed browser support will consist of the most accepted support. If there is an exception, it will be pointed out in the description of the entry.
