Find Your Pushback Style
If there was ever a time for women to push back, it's now. We are frequently in situations that require versatile, extemporaneous negotiation skills. And I don't mean the once-a-year raise type of negotiation, I mean the everyday kind. Consider that we're getting married (and divorced), buying homes, relocating, starting businesses, and moving into the executive ranks in unprecedented numbers. More women than men, by a sizeable margin, are single parents acting as heads of households. And as it turns out, we're the largest, most bankable talent pipeline: women make up more than half of the U.S. labor force.1
