Alex Martelli is an Italian computer engineer. He is the author of the first two editions of Python in a Nutshell and the co-author of the first two editions of Python Cookbook and the third edition of Python in a Nutshell. Alex is a fellow of the Python Software Foundation (PSF) and the winner of both the 2002 Activators' Choice Award and the 2006 Frank Willison Memorial Award for contributions to the Python community.
