In this section, we will be setting up an omnidirectional microphone to listen for commands/inputs.

We tested off-the-shelf electret microphones, and the audio quality was not sufficient to perform speech recognition on the recorded audio samples. As an alternative, we recommend boundary microphones for a wide pickup, for example, http://a.co/8YKSy4c.

The gain of the amplifier can be set to three levels: 60 dB when the gain pin is unconnected, 50 dB when the gain pin is connected to ground, and 40 dB when the gain pin is connected to V_dd.
