Using an external power supply

In this section, we are going to discuss connecting an external power supply to drive the motors. We will discuss connecting a 6V power supply to power the motors.

We will make use of a battery pack that consists of 4 AA batteries to drive the motors (battery packs available at http://a.co/hVPxfzD).
We need to install the battery pack such that it leads could be connected to the motor drivers power terminals.
The robot chassis kit came with an additional aluminum plate that could be used to install the battery pack (shown in the figure here):
