The Semi-Automatic Classification Plugin (SCP) for QGIS allows for the supervised classification of remote sensing images, providing tools for the downloading, preprocessing, and postprocessing of satellite images (https://plugins.qgis.org/plugins/SemiAutomaticClassificationPlugin/). It is an amazingly powerful tool that significantly extends Remote Sensing functionality into QGIS.
