In this chapter, we will continue exploring Qlik Sense and describe the basics of developing applications in Qlik Sense. We will also demonstrate how to prepare a Qlik Sense self-service environment for users.
We will develop a Qlik Sense Sales Analysis app that is somewhat similar to the QlikView Sales Analysis Dashboard that we developed in Chapter 4. In the process, we will introduce the following concepts:
Exploring the chart types available out-of-the-box in Qlik Sense
Using and building the library of reusable objects
Placing and resizing objects on a grid
Navigating object properties
Managing selections in Qlik Sense
Creating and using stories (Storytelling)
Developing geo-visualizations in Qlik Sense
Integrating Qlik Sense apps
Exploring the Qlik Sense Visual Environment
Qlik Sense was developed as an intuitive self-explanatory tool for non-technical users, so not every step in the process may need to be described in a great detail. We encourage you to navigate the tool on your own and discover additional features when you perform our simple exercises.
