I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
4. Support Tools for QFD
To explain QFD and its uses in Six Sigma, we must first acquaint ourselves with some procedural building blocks. QFD utilizes selected tools from Total Quality Management (TQM) problem-solving and planning, specifically from a set called the Seven Management and Planning Tools. Six Sigma uses several fundamental statistical and organizational tools to identify sources of variability, quantify them, and reduce or eliminate their effects on products, services, and processes. This chapter introduces these tools and describes how they are used in QFD. These tools will come up over and over, just as a hammer or a saw is used repeatedly in building a physical house.
