- American Customer Satisfaction Index, an indicator of the consumer satisfaction with the goods and services across the US economy sectors, based on surveys and interviews.
- AHRQ
- The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, an agency within the US Department of Health and Human Services.
- AIAG
- Automotive Industry Action Group, an automotive professional, in quality related areas.
- AS 9100D
- A standard for requirements for the quality management systems of aviation, aerospace, and defense industries. The first version was released in 1999.
- AS 9145
- An aerospace standard for the requirements for advanced product quality planning and production part approval process.
- ASTM
- An international standards organization for a wide range of materials, products, systems, and services, formerly known as American Society for Testing and Materials.
- ASTM E2782
- a standard guide for measurement systems analysis (MSA).
- CDC
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the national public health agency of the United States.
- CFR
- The Code of Federal Regulations, the US government’s general and permanent rules and regulations.
- CMM
- Coordinate measuring machine, a device to measure the geometry of a physical object by sensing its surface using a probe.
- DOD
- The United States Department of Defense

- The United States Department of Energy
