At the heart of a quantum computer is the qubit, designed as the analog of the classical bit, the deterministic component at the heart of all electronics out there. Bits are physically constructed using a transistor. Transistors are tiny, at around 15 nanometers (nm) where 1 nm = 10-12m; qubits, on the other hand, are big – a few meters tall.
