Abstract

Cybersecurity, a field within Computer Science, is one of the fields most invested in by countries around the globe. Countries are expected to spend more than 1 trillion dollars on cybersecurity by the end of 2021. Recently, it was shown that around 45 percent of cyberattacks are successful. Computer forensics is one of the most sought-after jobs in the 21st century. Cyber forensics is the process of accumulation and storing of data from a device that can be presented in front of a judge in a court. There are multiple forms of Digital Forensics. Some of them include Disk and network forensics and wireless forensics, among numerous others. The aim of this study is to find out what the future holds for us in the field of cybersecurity and cyber forensics around the world and ways to improve the existing technology, as well as creating new technology to catch the notorious hackers around the world. The methodology would mainly involve educating people about the threats they face in the online world as well as assessing the situation right now and predicting what the future in these two vast fields holds.
