Optics plays a crucial role in the success of today’s science and technology. This role is certainly destined to increase significantly in the future. Within the discipline of optics, quantum optics is rapidly becoming a dominant asset.
The aim of this book is to make available the principles of quantum optics directly to engineers and engineering students. This is done by presenting the subject, and associated elements of coherent optics, from a pragmatic and forthright perspective using Dirac’s quantum notation.
