Chapter C. Keyboard Shortcuts

You can start almost every task you perform in QuickBooks with a click somewhere in the program—on a menu in the menu bar, the Icon Bar, a tool bar in a window, on a shortcut menu, or a link in a Navigator. But moving the mouse around to perform those clicks takes a few seconds, which adds up over time. Moreover, when windows are jumbled on top of each other, you might have to clear them out of the way before you can find the place to click.

If you use QuickBooks infrequently, none of these things will seem like an inconvenience. But as soon as you spend more than a few minutes with the program, you’ll appreciate the keyboard shortcuts that take you right where you want to go in a fraction of a second, regardless of which windows are open. Here’re some of the QuickBooks keyboard shortcuts; each section starts with the ones you’re most likely to memorize.
