This chapter describes how to produce Trellis plots using R. There is a description of what Trellis plots are as well as a description of the functions used to produce them. Trellis plots are designed to be easy to interpret and at the same time provide some modern and sophisticated plotting styles, such as multipanel conditioning. The grid graphics system provides no high-level plotting functions itself, so this chapter also describes one way to produce a complete plot using the grid system.
